Lips

I think one of the most perfect qualities of this scene is how Anne Lister focuses so intently on Ann Walker'’s lips. She is so gentle and delicate, seductive and sweet. Such a smooth operator. It’s like she knew she could stimulate AW’s lips and her body by acknowledging their connection and mutual desire for one another with one simple touch.

I thought I would employ her tactics not too long ago. There I was, sitting next to my lover on a golden loveseat (mine was velvet). Both of us adorned in 19th century Victorian attire. I looked at her, she looked at me. We both could sense the heat, the passion, both craving closeness. I asked her if she’s ever kissed anyone and then reached out to her lips. She giggled shyly and said, “…have you?” I looked down, then back up and caught her eye...Literally. I poked it with my finger because I kept reaching for her even though I looked down and apparently even when I try to keep my hand level and moving forward, it goes up naturally. Subsequent research I did revealed this is likely because I am a positive person ‍♀️ in any case, I think I’ll leave the smooth moves to AL from now on.
