Love & Pain

The vulnerability in love leaves a wide-open space in the heart for pain to take up residence. The more extreme the love, the more extreme the pain. The more loves one has had, the more potential pain. In this AL photo, we see love and we see pain. They are melding into one another, swirling and twirling, moving in and out of each other, blurring lines and confounding boundaries.

AL, often at odds with her own heart, told it several times it does not feel what it is signaling to her it does…she begged it to rise above the feelings, to be independent and strong when it felt weak or compromised. Don’t we all do that? We don't want to have to depend on anyone or anything. But, it’s not a matter of dependence, it’s a matter of fulfillment. Fulfillment is individual, of course, and people are fulfilled by different things, but love brings fulfillment universally. No matter who you are or where you are from, love interminably transcends. Unfortunately, bonded with love, there is pain. We all feel pain, we all know pain. Sometimes choosing love means choosing pain and we make that choice willingly; other times the choice is made for us. Whatever the circumstance, we can all relate. That’s why GJ impacts us…a story of real women from the past feeling and experiencing love and pain, which transcend all of humanity - past, present, and future, and eternally links us together. So, right now, our hearts are basically all holding love and pain hands with AL and AW! That is kinda great, isn’t it?
