Peering Eyeballs
Anne Lister and Ann Walker make me feel like my soul is being peered into from the entire lesbian population of 1800s England with this photo. Their eyes say “I see gay in you, future woman. It emanates. Your aura, it’s overwhelmingly gay and what’s that…oh yes, it’s also very, very nerdy. Nice glasses. And, we all know you love cake, just stop saying it. Thx.” Omg, they just rolled their eyes at me. Did you know in 1800 the eye roll stopped halfway? They didn’t roll the eyeball all the way around. Fascinating.
Seriously tho, their eyes are following me wherever I go. I just went to the grocery and I saw them peering at me through an olive oil bottle 👀 I grabbed a peach & their heads were underneath, staring! I nearly fainted. Then, when pulled out my milk carton, a framed print of this photo slid down behind it. At that point I felt like the universe was trying to tell me something…like through an optical illusion. It’s like that one time when I was riding my bike and came across a bald jogger in the distance….I couldn’t tell if he was coming or going. I didn’t know until I nearly hit him. (He had very indistinct and pale facial features). Yep, that’s life in a nutshell. Say no more 1800s lesbian Englanders, I get it.
