Self-Doubt

Self-doubt can be a funny thing. It can alter your thoughts so that what you perceive to be reality may, in fact, not actually be real. Anne Lister seems to doubt herself and what she means to Ann Walker throughout their relationship because AW’s actions and words are confusing and often conflict with one another. However, there are several moments when AW’s heightened emotional state reveals just how much AL means to her (A LOT). In any case, not only did my heart burst when AW throws herself on AL with reckless abandon, but also when AL realizes in those moments…’She truly loves me, she needs me. I am to her what I have believed myself to be all along.’
